Join us for a breakfast conversation with leaders in the field and the launch of our latest publication, On the Map: The Dynamics of Family Homelessness in New York City.
Family homelessness is a complex and growing issue. In New York City, there are more than 12,000 families living in shelter and many more living “doubled-up.” In response to the growing epidemic, the Institute for Children, Poverty, and Homelessness created On the Map: The Dynamics of Family Homelessness in New York City. Since its original launch in 2016, On the Map has proved to be an easy-to-use resource for policymakers, budget analysts, service providers, community leaders, and organizations.
Panelists will delve into the new data in On the Map to provide a comprehensive look at the issues that homeless and at-risk families face, in addition to opening the conversation about the factors that affect homeless and at-risk families in each of the city’s 51 council districts and 59 community districts.
